2020 Update

I heard so many stories of RV and van camping people who’ve been harrassed by the police. It was pretty shocking and very disheartening. Especially for the solo female travelers out there. I wanted to thank everyone who shared their story because it did help for me to digest this event.

Now that I live in Panama, I don’t see too many RV and van campers - the infrastructure isn’t entirely set up for it. But I know the country is ripe for this type of living! You can camp on some beaches for free. There’s tons of open space, no crowded beaches, no bumper to bumper camping.

I decided that fulltime RV living wouldn’t be for me, but for anyone who’s interested in checking out Panama, I highly recommend it, it’s a beautiful country!

In the era of angry and aggressive policing, it is an honorable service to your fellow citizens to video record police officers interactions with the common people.
